New Tool Available to Fulfill and Supplement Stafford Exit Counseling Requirements

Financial aid professionals understand the importance of effective loan counseling to their school and to the students they serve. Effective loan management by students keeps a school's default rates low and also results in successful graduates.

Schools now have an additional resource to help their students fulfill or supplement Stafford exit counseling requirements. Mapping Your Future offers printable Stafford exit counseling materials that can be customized by the school. Financial aid professionals can download these materials from by logging into their FAO Access from the Mapping Your Future website at MappingYourFuture.org Mapping Your Future Sponsors and Friends can access the materials from the sponsor site.

"Mapping Your Future offers these customizable exit counseling materials to continue to enhance the value of these free services to schools and students," said Cathy Mueller, executive director of Mapping Your Future. "Schools have a variety of options to fulfill federal loan counseling requirements, and online counseling is very convenient and effective. The printed exit counseling materials may be used as a supplement to the online sessions or in-person sessions"

Financial aid professionals can distribute the printed materials to students for future reference and further education, or they can mail the materials to those students who do not complete the in-person or online counseling sessions.

These materials are made available in collaboration with guaranty agencies of the Federal Family Education Loan Program that sponsor Mapping Your Future. The materials meet all the latest regulatory requirements and provide important financial literacy information for students.
