Concord, NH - The NHHEAF Network Organizations is partnering with a number of local
hospitals throughout NH in an effort to inform parents that they are their children's first
and most important teacher and that their attitude towards learning will inspire their
children to see how exciting and meaningful education can be. To celebrate "NH Goes
to College" Month, hundreds of new parents and their newborn babies will be receiving
infant t-shirts known as "onesies" that read, Future Graduate. Accompanying the onesies
will be a message reminding the new family of the many opportunities which abound for
children through education. The effort began as part of the annual "NH Goes to
College" campaign that occurs every October by proclamation of Governor Lynch to
denote the importance of higher education for New Hampshire students.
Participating hospitals this year include Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, Catholic
Medical Center in Manchester, St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, Memorial Hospital in
Conway and Cheshire Hospital in Keene.
"NHHEAF is proud to raise awareness among all citizens that higher education in New
Hampshire is accessible and to inspire families with children of all ages to reach for postsecondary
education as a goal," stated Tara Payne, Vice President, Corporate
Communications and Marketing.
"NH Goes to College" Month is also celebrated by the Organizations as its Center for
College Planning (CCP) counselors tour the State to visit with 5th graders and their
parents. During these visits, the students have the opportunity to hear about the
opportunities higher education presents and parents are reminded that it is never too
early to start planning. Many of the events also include a "meet and greet" with the
Organizations' mascot, the College Planning Bear.

The NHHEAF Network Organizations are comprised of four 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that
provide students and families with the resources and funding to pursue higher education
aspirations. Funds generated by the Organizations make their charitable mission possible as
student loan earnings are reinvested in programs and services that benefit citizens of New
Hampshire. For more information, visit www.nhheaf.org.
