House Education and Labor Committee Hearing Will Discuss Changes to the Student Loan Program

The House Education and Labor Committee, which is charged with creating budget savings to meet reconciliation instructions in the 2010 budget resolution, is scheduled to hold a hearing today titled "Increasing Student Aid through Loan Reform."

A live Webcast of the hearing will be avaialble through the committee's Web site at 10:00 a.m. EDT. Simply click the "Live Webcast" link in the upper, right-hand corner of the committee's Web site to view the live Webcast.

"One of the proposals the committee will examine is President Obama's FY 2010 budget proposal, which would increase the Pell Grant scholarship and other forms of student aid by almost $100 billion over ten years - and at no cost to taxpayers," according to the committee's Web site.
