Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Edward Kennedy's (D-MA) head of education policy, Erin Renner, announced that as of yesterday she is stepping down to become a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department.
Erin Renner replaced J.D. LaRock in Kennedy's Washington office this summer. She worked on the College Cost Reduction and Access Act and the Higher Education Opportunity Act as a HELP Committee staffer.
Renner said in her email that "Emma Vadehra will continue to be the lead on student loans in addition to elementary and secondary education issues. New staff will be added to cover other higher education and Workforce Investment Act issues."
