GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Because the faltering economy has made financial aid a more pressing concern than ever for prospective college students and their parents, Furman University has posted a series of short videos on its website that provide answers to some of the most basic questions concerning student aid.
In a series of eight, 2-3 minute interviews, Forrest Stuart, Furman's director of financial aid, explains how to determine whether a school provides a good financial fit, the reality behind a college's "sticker price" and what happens when a student's financial situation changes. The videos also talk about the different types of financial aid available and even offer help about filling out a financial aid application.
"These videos address the questions we hear most often from parents and high school counselors," Stuart said. "College is a major and worthy investment, and we felt this was a good time to provide prospective students and their parents with sound information that is easily accessible online."
