FA 202: Professional Judgment (2009-10)

In this course, we will provide a comprehensive review of the concept of Professional Judgment, examine some guiding principles for its use and explore the impact of other financial assistance on student eligibility. The objectives of this course are to:

  • Define Professional Judgment;

  • Identify the areas where Professional Judgment is specifically authorized by statute;

  • Discuss the importance of documentation;

  • Examine some case studies; and

  • Perform some hand calculations.

This course contains 8 lessons:

  • Lesson 1: It’s Your Decision – Course Introduction

  • Lesson 3: Dependency Status

  • Lesson 4: Data Elements

  • Lesson 5: Cost of Attendance

  • Lesson 6: Denial of FFEL or Direct Loan Eligibility
