Background Information

In response to legislative activity as well as the need to update certain Title IV regulations, the Department of Education (ED) established negotiated rulemaking panels that met from December 2006 through April 2007. Three Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) resulted from those efforts, although the negotiators did not reach consensus agreement on all of the issues discussed. Following a period of public comment, final rules have now been issued.

NASFAA presents this series of Webinars, The Final Rules, Fall 2007, to help our members begin their analyses of the revised rules and prepare for implementation of the regulatory changes.
