Topic: ACG/SMART Grants - Identifying Eligible Students (Three-Part Series)

In April 2007, NASFAA's Webinar Series on ACG/SMART Grants provided a 3-part presentation titled "Identifying Eligible Students." Each Webinar in the series had a different focus and agenda and ranged from 60 to 90 minutes in length. Department of Education policy experts were present at all three Webinars to answer questions.

1. April 3, Webinar 1 - ACG
Topics included: Citizenship criteria, enrollment requirements, demonstrated need, Pell Grant eligibility, prior enrollment, GPA; rigorous secondary school program, including identifying and/or confirming eligible applicants

2. April 4, Webinar 2 - SMART
Topics included: Brief review of basic eligibility criteria (U.S. citizen, full-time, demonstrated need, Pell-eligible); GPA; eligible majors; and packaging and repackaging strategies discussed by two experienced fianncial aid administrators

3. April 12, Webinar 3 - ACG and SMART
Topics included: Academic year progression; GPA details



Topic: ACG/SMART Grants: An Update with ED, Part I

On December 13, 2006, NASFAA and the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid offered a Webinar on ACG and SMART Grants. Titled "ACG/SMART Grants: An Update with ED on Reporting Payment Data, Drawing Down Funds, and Awarding Transfer Students," the Webinar emphasized reporting through COD and NSLDS.

Topic: ACG/SMART Grant Reporting: An Update with ED, Part II

On April 25, 2007, this 90-minute Webinar focused on five topic areas: 1. ACG/SMART Data Elements Required For COD; 2. COD Edits; 3. Funding; 4. Transfer Students/Concurrently Enrolled Students; 5. ACG Awarding for 07-08.
