Why Choose NASFAA

Since 1966, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators has provided advice to institutions on how to manage financial aid programs. The Standards of Excellence Review Program turns that advice into a formal assessment.

  • NASFAA has access to the most current and accurate information about financial aid.

  • NASFAA peer reviewers are practicing financial aid professionals who receive specialized tools to conduct peer reviews. They understand the issues you face and are prepared to work in partnership with you to help your institution enhance its administration of the financial aid programs.

  • Peer review teams know federal regulations, understand the goals of higher education, and recognize the needs of financial aid offices. These teams can offer advice on staffing, benchmarking, electronic services, and student service.

  • NASFAA is an active participant in the negotiated rulemaking process and our strong working relationship with the Department of Education allows us to obtain rapid, confidential responses if clarification or follow-up is needed.

  • Because NASFAA does not offer consulting services after the review, you can be assured that your Standards of Excellence Review will be fair and objective.
