San Diego Zoo - Nestled in the heart of historic Balboa Park it’s no wonder that the San Diego Zoo is at the very heart of the San Diego experience. With more than 4,000 fascinating animals, a renowned botanical collection, and lots of things to see and do, the lively atmosphere makes the San Diego Zoo a great place to visit.
USS Midway Museum - The USS Midway is one of America's longest serving aircraft carriers. The museum offers an up close look at life on the floating city with tours of various areas such as the post office, sleeping quarters, engine room and even the ship's jail.
Old Town San Diego - Old Town San Diego marks the site of the first Spanish settlement on the US West Coast and features 12 acres of Mexican heritage and historical sites, colorful shops, early-California-style restaurants, museums, a theater and the restored Cosmopolitan Hotel.
Coronado - Set against the backdrop of storied and iconic Hotel del Coronado, featured in Marilyn Monroe’s 1958 film "Some Like it Hot," Coronado is the quintessential San Diego postcard experience and a great place to experience the Pacific Ocean and the beach. A tidewater pool is just down from the hotel for kids (and adults too) to explore and look for crabs, fish and other sea creatures, and surfers are known to frequent the area. The long sandy beaches here are special and literally sparkle, thanks to the mineral mica in its golden sand, which is one of the reasons Coronado is consistently voted one of America’s finest beaches by The Travel Channel, Dr. Beach, and many others. Restaurants are within easy walking distance of the beach.
Balboa Park - The nation's largest urban cultural park. Home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and the San Diego Zoo, the park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and classes—all in the beautiful and timeless setting of this must-see San Diego attraction.
