NASFAA and Treehouse - Help Foster Youth Get Ready for College!

Each year since 1994, NASFAA conferees generously assist local nonprofit organizations with donations and gifts. The 2006 Conference Committee selected "Treehouse" a private, independent non-profit organization in Seattle that assists foster kids as the recipient organization. Their services range from providing basic needs such as clothing to assisting with preparation for college. With fewer than 10% of youth in foster care attending post-secondary education institutions, NASFAA members have a unique opportunity to assist children in foster care in meeting the challenge of attending college.

These future college students (the very students we work with every day in our jobs) require assistance with school supplies, clothing, and cash donations. Providing hand calculators, binders, "hoodies," and monetary donations that can be used for everything from SAT test fees, college application fees, first quarter books, and other basic necessities to start college life will make a difference! Please refer to the flyer included in this preconference program for ideas on how you can help. You may bring items to the conference, make donations in advance or on site. Additional information about "Treehouse" can be found on their website at www.Treehouseforkids.org.

Donations of any type or amount will clearly make a difference to the youth served by this worthwhile organization.
