The NASFAA Retiree Group is a service for individuals who are retired from the financial aid profession and are interested in maintaining contact with the Association and with one-another.

The Retiree Group held its first reunion in conjunction with the 2003 NASFAA Conference in Salt Lake City. Retiree Reunion II will be this summer at the NASFAA Conference in Seattle, where NASFAA will also be celebrating its 40th anniversary.

The NRG committee has planned a number of sightseeing opportunities and other events to assure that it is a great experience. The retiree leadership has also arranged for two post-reunion cruises to Alaska for which space is still available.

We invite all retirees to convene in Seattle, July 5-8, for Retiree Reunion II and to help celebrate NASFAA's 40th anniversary.

Individuals enrolled in the NASFAA Retiree Group are invited to take advantage of a reduced conference registration fee of $168. Retiree Group enrollment privileges are extended to individuals who are retired from the financial aid profession and are no longer employed full time in a financial aid-related enterprise.
For additional information on the Retiree Group, please contact membership@NASFAA.org or call 202-785-0453, ext. 0.

Retiree Reunion II

On Tuesday, July 4, members of the NASFAA Retiree Group are invited to the Board of Directors reception. Wednesday, July 5 includes a retiree breakfast and tour of the Space Needle, a "Ducks Tour" of Seattle, an outing to Blake Island and Tillicum Village, and the NASFAA National Chair's Reception. (Please note: separate registration and fees apply to the Breakfast, "Ducks Tour" of Seattle and outing to Blake Island and Tillicum Village.) Thursday, July 6, will feature some interest sessions which may be of particular interest to retirees, recognition of retirees at a luncheon commemorating NASFAA's 40th anniversary, and the NASFAA Retiree Group business meeting. On Friday, July 7 (and other conference dates), retirees are invited to attend all conference sessions.

Cruise to Alaska

The NASFAA retiree group arranged for a block of cabins on two different Princess ships for attendees to enjoy a cruise to Alaska after the conference. All are welcome to sign-up for these exciting cruises. More information on each is below.

Option 1 - 11-day cruise to Alaska on the Diamond Princess scheduled to depart from Vancouver July 8
This trip includes 7 days of Alaska and Glaciers Cruising, a 3-night Land Tour featuring 2-nights Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, and a 1-night stay in Fairbanks. The return from Fairbanks is by Air to Seattle or home. For further details, download the flyer.

Option 2 - 7-day cruise to Alaska on the Dawn Princess scheduled to depart from Seattle on July 8
This popular option has passengers board the ship in Seattle for a sea cruise only trip - no land tour. This cruise stops at several popular ports including Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and Victoria, BC. For more information on the Alaska cruise from Seattle, download the flyer.
