Search of Best Practices - A NASFAA Symposium provides you with an
opportunity to delve into national topics of concern, learn from the experiences
of others, and share ideas on current issues facing senior aid administrators
today.
In
2008, the topic of the Symposium is "Professionalism and Ethics." Participants
will examine what each term means and the relationship between them within
the context of the various roles financial aid administrators perform
and the various constituents they must serve.
The Symposium
will include an in-depth exploration and discussion of the responsibility
financial aid administrators have to balance institutional goals with
student needs, the NASFAA Statement of Ethical Principles and Code of
Conduct for Institutional Financial Aid Professionals, as well as current
issues and situations in which the professionalism and ethics of financial
aid administrators are called into question. Through an in-depth examination
of these issues, participants will gain a better understanding of the
ethical dilemmas facing not only the profession but also situations they
encounter every day. Through the exchange of ideas, participants will
develop a better understanding of how to best respond to these professional
challenges.
