What is Today's News?

Today's News is NASFAA's daily email newsletter which has a circulation of over 28,000 individuals and is rated by members as the most valuable service NASFAA provides. NASFAA members rely on Today’s News to get the latest updates on student aid legislation, regulations, research, and job openings.

How do I sign up for Today's News?

Log in to your myNASFAA account and edit your email settings under the Email Options tab. Note that not all member types have access to edit their subscription. If you need assistance, contact NASFAA Membership Services using the form at the bottom of the Email Options tab, by emailing [email protected], or calling (202) 785-0453 x 1. 

How do I unsubscribe from Today's News?

To unsubscribe from Today's News or set a vacation stop, log in to your myNASFAA account and edit your email settings under the Email Options tab. Note that some member types may not be able to re-subscribe using the online tool. If you need assistance, contact NASFAA Membership Services using the form at the bottom of the Email Options tab, by email at [email protected], or at (202) 785-0453 x 1.

I unsubscribed from Today's News/NASFAA emails. Why am I still receiving emails?

It may take three to seven business days before you stop receiving emails. Also, there are some emails that are required and you may still receive based on user activity or an institution’s membership type. You can find these listed on the Email Options page of myNASFAA. If you need any further assistance, please contact NASFAA Membership Services at [email protected] or at (202) 785-0453 x 1.

I stopped receiving Today's News. How do I resume my subscription?

There are a few reasons why you may have stopped receiving NASFAA emails and Today’s News.

  • If you’ve recently adjusted your email settings in myNASFAA, be sure that the box next to Today’s News is checked and there isn’t a vacation stop in place.
  • If you've made no changes, your SPAM filter or network software may be blocking the email from your inbox. To minimize this risk, add the following addresses to your email address book or safe senders list: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. You may also request that your IT department white-list nasfaa.org, informz.net, and the IP address 205.201.43.85 to further minimize Today's News getting blocked by SPAM filters.
  • Finally, your membership may have expired, or your subscription may have been adjusted by another user at your institution or organization. After performing the steps above, contact NASFAA Membership Services at [email protected] or at (202) 785-0453 x 1.

I cannot see Today’s News on my iPhone? What can I do?

Sometimes a recent phone update can cause email applications to have issues properly displaying emails. While we work toward resolving the issue, you can "reply" or "forward" the Today’s News email & it will re-compile in the outgoing draft and be viewable. You may also view Today's News in your web browser at nasfaa.org/todays-news.
