Great presentation and so well stated, as to how many of us did not commence in or think about the financial aid field. In my own case, having just returned from the US Army, I was asked to take over an area in the Office of Admissions that would bring together the areas of student scholarships, work study, student loans and even the NDSL. That was 1967! Hard to believe that for 27 years thereafter I served as director, dean and then vice-president for the area of Student Financial Aid Services. Now, since 1994, another outreach in community relations and yet getting the calls re financial aid advisement and counsel, and doing the 10-12 talks at schools during the year to large audience in the Long Island area of NY. No, the profession has never stopped....FINANCIAL AID it is!
