Subject: OUTAGE ALERT – SAIG Outage April 21-22, 2018

During the period April 21-22, 2018, we plan to complete important system work that will impact the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). This work is related to the transition of our data center to a new location and is in addition to the regular weekly maintenance that occurs each weekend.

Information is provided below about the SAIG outage. Please review the information and evaluate the impact on your school or organization during the outage period.

In the coming months, additional outage periods that will impact other Federal Student Aid websites and systems will be required, as we complete the transition to the new data center. We will post announcements to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website informing you in advance of these outages. We do not anticipate that schools or organizations will need to make any changes to access Federal Student Aid systems after the data center transition is complete.

SAIG File Submission Impact on April 21-22, 2018

From 7 p.m. Eastern time (ET) on Saturday, April 21, 2018 until 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, April 22, 2018, file transmissions via the SAIG will be interrupted. Users attempting to transmit files via the SAIG during the outage period using either EDconnect or TDClient software will receive an error message informing them that the SAIG is unavailable. Data must be transmitted by the user at a later time, after the outage is complete. During the outage, users will be able to access SAIG mailbox content received prior to the outage; however, all data destined for SAIG mailboxes will be held and transmitted by the SAIG after the outage is over.

We apologize for the inconvenience this outage may cause and appreciate your patience as we complete this important upgrade.
