NASFAA Mention: Donald Trump: Where He Stands

"He's been a businessman, willing fodder for New York gossip columns, and as of Jan. 20, 2017, the leader of the free world. But President Donald J. Trump is above all a brand – one that propelled him to an unexpected victory in 2016 and one he hopes will secure his reelection in the fall," according to U.S. News & World Report

...Trump on Higher Education:

"Trump has consistently attempted to cut education funding. His most recent budget proposal would cut about $150 billion from federal student aid programs over 10 years, according to the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. One exception has been in the area of historically black colleges and universities, which under the Trump administration have seen federal funding increase among other steps to raise their profile. Most of the department's efforts under Trump have been focused on rolling back Obama-era regulations, including those meant to protect students from predatory for-profit colleges. The administration in May also finalized new Title IX campus sexual assault regulations that raised the bar of proof for sexual misconduct and bolstered the rights of those accused, while also introducing new protections that for the first time ever include sexual harassment in the scope of the sex discrimination law."
