FAFSA Availability Delayed Until December

"The release date for the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid has been delayed, making the application available on Dec. 1 instead of the usual date of Oct. 1," The Daily Titan reports.

..."The version being tested is currently available to those invited to volunteer; however, the beta version will be available to all students before the official FAFSA release date of Dec. 1.

'Ideally, we would have a fully functional, well-tested FAFSA opening on October 1,' said Beth Maglione, interim president and CEO of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, in a press release. 'But given where we are in the process and the challenges that have plagued this year's rollout, we would rather wait until December 1 to allow time for the necessary testing to ensure a functional system when ED launches the 2025-26 FAFSA.'"
