Student Loan Borrowers Could See Higher Payments After Judge's Ruling

"A federal appeals court has blocked the Biden administration's student loan repayment program known as the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan, leaving millions of borrowers uncertain about their repayment options," Newsweek reports.

..."Megan Walter, senior policy analyst at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), told Newsweek: 'Because the SAVE plan has not yet been officially repealed, it could still be several more months until borrowers need to move into a different repayment plan. This week's decision was sent back to the lower courts to issue a final ruling, which we expect will fully block the SAVE plan. For now, forbearance will continue until the lower court submits its final ruling, which could take weeks to months, and the Trump administration decides what to do with borrowers currently in the SAVE plan.'"
