Mobile FAFSA App Now Available for Download

The Department of Education (ED) launched a beta version Wednesday of its much-anticipated mobile FAFSA app, known as “myStudentAid.” The app, which was first announced in November, is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. According to the Federal Student Aid (FSA) website, this initial version of the app allows students and families to fill out the 2018-19 FAFSA, and future versions will offer “additional functionality.” Earlier this summer, FSA also redesigned its website to make it more mobile-friendly, among other changes.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Information on the FAFSA generally is not updated or changed if it was correct at the time the FAFSA was signed and submitted. If the student was pregnant at the time the FAFSA was filed and correctly included the unborn child in the household size, the household size would not be updated due to the miscarriage, however there are two exceptions.
