NEWS FROM NASFAA

In a notice posted Monday, the Department of Education (ED) detailed new information regarding partial distribution of Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) supplemental funds to schools located in areas that have been impacted by Hurricane Ida or the California wildfires. ED said it will reallocate the funding to eligible schools located in such areas  by Sept. 30, 2021, and will notify said schools by sending an email to the financial aid administrator identified on the school’s most recently submitted Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP). The notice also strongly encourages schools to award FSEOG funds to students in need, particularly those adversely impacted by Hurricane Ida or the California wildfires.
