NEWS FROM NASFAA

A new program in Osceola County, Florida, will offer every graduating high school senior from the county this year the chance to attend Valencia College, a NASFAA member institution, free of charge thanks to a partnership with the county that is funded in part by federal coronavirus funds. No-cost tuition at both Valencia College — the county’s local community college — and Osceola Technical College is made possible through the Osceola Prosper program and is available to all of the 2022 graduating class from any Osceola County high school, including public, private, charter, and homeschool graduates.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Virtual training opportunities have grown leaps and bounds in the wake of the pandemic and NASFAA intends to build on that momentum to offer a brand-new, 100% online, virtual conference in 2022. We'll carry the same great aspects of the national conference you've come to know and love into a virtual format, but the content will consist entirely of unique sessions not offered at the NASFAA 2022 in-person conference held two weeks prior. Registration is institutional rather than individual, so for the cost of just $250, everyone on your NASFAA roster can participate. Explore the conference schedule and register today!

This four-week interactive online course begins May 10 and provides an overview of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the entire application process which includes correctly answering dependency questions, supplying tax and income information, parental information, and how an applicant correctly completes and submits a FAFSA. Course participants will also learn the process the Central Processing System (CPS) performs when it receives a FAFSA and understand the difference between corrections, updates, and adjustments to applicant data. Register today.
