The Senate Banking Committee recently delved into the topic of student loan debt in a hearing focused on examining the practices of servicers and their handling of debt forgiveness programs. Yet the conversation underscored just how far apart Democrats and Republicans are on policy solutions aimed at alleviating ballooning student debt levels.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA is seeking a detail-oriented news reporter to cover student aid-related regulations, research, trends, and best practices for the NASFAA website and daily electronic newsletter. While experience covering higher education is not required, the reporter should have the demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new topics and report for a daily publication. Interested applicants should apply online with a cover letter, resume, and three writing samples by this Friday, May 20, 2022 for full consideration.
