NEWS FROM NASFAA

Just less than four years after its launch, the Department of Education (ED), citing low consumer engagement, is slated to wind down support for its mobile app and instead direct borrowers to StudentAid.gov, where applicants more regularly submit their FAFSA application materials.

The Department of Education (ED) will be hosting a Quarterly Report Technical Assistance webinar tomorrow, Thursday, June 23, to go over updates to the Quarterly Budget and Expenditures Report (QBER) form that are expected to be unveiled at the end of this week. During the webinar participants will have an opportunity to ask questions via chat. Additional information can be found by reaching out to [email protected]. As a reminder, ED is requiring that this new form, the publication of which has been delayed, be submitted by July 10, 2022. Stay tuned to Today’s News for more information as it becomes available.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

The NASFAA conference is a team effort! When we convene in Austin, please help us thank our Platinum- (College Ave Student Loans, Discover® Student Loans, Earnest, Edly, Inceptia, Oracle America, Sallie Mae, and SoFi) and Gold-level (Mohela and Ocelot) sponsors for their financial support and on-site participation. Our sponsors are a key piece of the puzzle as they help make it possible for NASFAA to provide financial aid training, networking opportunities, and professional development at the conference. Be sure to visit the Exhibit Hall while you're in Austin; if you haven't already, register for the conference now.

To remain certified, an FAAC® must accumulate at least 60 recertification points (RPs) every three years through financial aid-related training and other activities. FAACs who recertify with 100 RPs or more qualify to join the exclusive 100+ Club, which acknowledges the significant investment of time and effort required to recertify at this level. More than 30 FAACs have achieved this milestone. Benefits include a discounted recertification fee, a special badge and lapel pin, and inclusion on the 100+ Club Registry. Make the 100+ Club your new goal! Learn more about recognition and benefits for all FAACs.
