NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Financial Aid Day (FAD) to all financial aid professionals across the United States who help make students’ college-going dreams a reality. We want to see how your financial aid office is celebrating FAD — post your celebrations on social media and tag @NASFAA. You can also answer our NASFAA trivia for a chance to win one NASFAA U online course registration, a P&P Builder subscription for your school, or one professional credential test of your choosing. Winners will be randomly selected from those who answer correctly and will be announced on NASFAA Member Appreciation Day, Monday, October 24.

Deepen your knowledge with NASFAA U online courses this spring. Classes include Fundamentals of Student Financial Aid, which is geared toward new professionals and individuals who work in partnering offices, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Verification 2023-24, Return of Title IV Funds, Administrative Capability, and Cost of Attendance. Here is what one participant said about taking a NASFAA U course: “The course is informative and well thought out. Very helpful and I believe any style of learner will be able to successfully improve their knowledge through this course.” Classes generally sell out weeks ahead of the start date. NASFAA's Financial Aid Night Toolkit has recently been updated with information for the 2023-24 academic year and is now available to assist NASFAA members in conducting or providing support for financial aid night presentations. In the toolkit you'll find a slideshow designed to give students and families a basic understanding of financial aid concepts, sources of financial aid, and the application process for federal student aid. The toolkit also contains a guide to planning and conducting a financial aid night, as well as updated versions of supplemental student and parent handouts to help you give a compelling and informative presentation. The content may be presented in person or virtually.
