The White House on Wednesday unveiled a new fact sheet and report detailing how the administration’s pandemic relief has provided an estimated 18 million students with direct financial aid since the start of 2021.

NASFAA is pleased to share updates to the Student Aid Index Modeling Tool to reflect new information released by the Department of Education (ED) in its 2024-2025 DRAFT Pell Eligibility and SAI Guide in late 2022. The tool now accounts for ED’s decision to limit the student contribution from available income — which the law now permits to be a negative value — to -1500. The Pell Grant annual maximum award is also updated to match the 2022-23 maximum award.

NASFAA is looking for a student to fill a 12-week paid internship with its Policy and Federal Relations staff. The intern will help develop advocacy materials; attend and report on hearings, events, and meetings; analyze and summarize legislation and regulations; and much more. Those students studying in fields related to higher education, public policy, political science, and history may benefit most from this internship.
