NEWS FROM NASFAA

Financial aid professionals gathered last week at NASFAA’s Leadership and Legislative Conference & Expo to learn and discuss the financial aid and enrollment management implications of the Supreme Court’s future ruling on race-conscious admission policies and what it means for financial aid.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

It's that time again — Financial Aid Awareness Month has arrived! This year, we want to know how you, our members, are spreading awareness. Need some ideas? Utilize social media to spread the word, lead a Q&A session for prospective college students, or host a virtual meet-and-greet for students to interact with your office. Be sure to keep NASFAA in the loop by sharing about your Financial Aid Awareness Month efforts and events on social media using the hashtag #FinAidFeb, and by posting photos on our Facebook page. Plus, share your outreach efforts using our raffle submission form no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday, February 27. We'll choose three financial aid offices at random to win pizza for their office. Thank you for all you do!

Wondering if the FAAC® designation is right for you? We asked four FAACs to share insights about their experience with the program, including why they decided to pursue certification, how they prepared for the knowledge exam, and how they benefit from holding the FAAC designation. Their responses may address some of your questions and give you the encouragement you need to take the next step in your own professional development. Read their responses and then check your own eligibility. The next two-week testing window opens February 22, 2023.

Join our Virtual 5K Training Community to train with fellow aid administrators for a charity 5K run/walk this summer at the 2023 NASFAA National Conference in San Diego benefiting Students Without Limits. All levels of experience are welcome — the community will focus on support, training tips, and fun. Registration for the 5K is expected to open next month and will be separate from the conference registration and community sign-up. Stay tuned for more details!
