This week on a special episode of “Off The Cuff,” Justin is joined by Samantha Hicks, assistant vice president of financial aid and scholarships at Coastal Carolina University. Sam speaks with Justin about her experience of growing up in poverty and navigating higher education. During the conversation Sam also touched on her career in financial aid, which began back when she was a student worker at Coastal Carolina University.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA's annual Awards Ceremony and Business Meeting this year will be conducted virtually at 2:00 p.m. ET on May 24, 2022 as part of the Policy Update Webinar. NASFAA's Bylaws dictate that the association must meet annually for the purpose of transacting all business which may be brought before the membership. The meeting will include reports on NASFAA's financial status, governance and oversight, and diversity efforts.

Please join us in congratulating: Jonah Hammonds, who was promoted from program support specialist to counselor 1 at City University of Seattle; Kimberly Stubbs, who was promoted from assistant director of financial aid to director of financial aid at University of Central Arkansas; Kim Thompson, who was promoted to senior financial aid counselor at Youngstown State University; Sandra Peppard, who was promoted from financial aid counselor to director of financial aid at Kentucky Christian University; and Rebecca Carr, who was promoted from interim vice president of compliance and financial aid services to vice president of financial aid and regulatory affairs at Salem University.
