NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

The verification process is particularly complex and challenging, especially in light of this year’s changes. Do you have any documents, presentations, forms, or guides that your office uses to better navigate verification? If you have created a template that you would like to share with the larger financial aid community, please submit the document to our community resource library by October 25. Thank you for helping support our community.

Celebrated each year on the third Wednesday in October, Financial Aid Day (FAD) is a special day set aside to celebrate and recognize the contribution of all financial aid professionals across the United States for helping students make their college-going dreams a reality. On FAD colleagues are encouraged to do something special—have an office party, a potluck, a toast, etc.—to celebrate financial aid administrators' contributions to the profession. There are endless ways to celebrate each other, but the most important thing is to have fun and intentionally recognize everyone’s efforts. What is your office doing to celebrate the occasion? Send your stories and pictures to [email protected] or share them on social media and tag NASFAA.

Would you like to take a deep dive into the FAFSA form and the application process? If so, NASFAA U has an amazing opportunity for you starting on October 22! This four-week interactive online course provides an overview of the entire application process, which includes correctly answering dependency questions, supplying tax and income information, identifying contributors, and how an applicant correctly completes and submits a FAFSA. Although this course is designed for financial aid professionals, it is also a great learning tool for others on your campus or partnering organizations who assist students through the financial aid application process. Reserve your seat today.
