NEWS FROM NASFAA

The Department of Education (ED) on Monday announced that beta testing for the 2025-26 FAFSA has officially expanded to all students, meaning that any student and their contributors will be able to complete the form ahead of the application’s planned December 1 launch date.

The Department of Education (ED) has begun an email campaign notifying students that they may be eligible to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, along with information on how SNAP works and how to apply. Earlier this month, ED announced a partnership with the Department of Agriculture to strengthen college student access to SNAP. According to ED, it began sending emails out to students on Friday, November 15, and will continue sending emails for “the next few days.”
