Meet Katie Conrad, FAAC®, executive director of the office of scholarships and financial aid at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Katie has been a resolute leader of the financial aid community for many years. She started her professional journey at Midway University in Kentucky. After 13 years in Kentucky, she then went on to work at Miami University and Florida International University. This year Katie began her newest professional endeavor at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
NASFAA, along with over a dozen higher education organizations, signed onto a letter in support of the Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act. However, the letter makes several suggestions to clarify language in the bill, specifically around the VA GI Bill Comparison Tool. "Without clear definitions in statute, it is reasonable to expect that the Department of Veterans Affairs will distribute inconsistent or misinterpreted data," the letter reads. The groups go on to explain that clarifying the bill’s language will better equip veterans and their families to make truly informed choices about their educational options.
