NASFAA is pleased to provide updates to its data sharing decision tree reflecting changes to data sharing rules in the FAFSA Simplification Act and the introduction of federal tax information (FTI) to the FAFSA. The updates reflect official and unofficial written and verbal ED guidance received to date and is subject to change as ED releases new guidance in the future. NASFAA will also update its data sharing white paper in 2025.
A government shutdown looms over the U.S. government as Congress has yet to reach a consensus on a continuing resolution, or some other spending agreement, to fund the federal government past December 20. If a deal isn’t reached by December 20, the federal government will shut down after midnight, and Congress will need to develop a new plan to end the shutdown.
Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.) was re-elected to continue to serve as ranking member for the House Committee on Education and the Workforce for the upcoming 119th Congress. Scott said that he would continue to fight to ensure access to high-quality education.
The NASFAA office will be closed between Dec. 21, 2024 - Jan. 1, 2025. During this time NASFAA's Today's News will not be sent and technical and membership support will not be available.
