NEWS FROM NASFAA

The Department of Education (ED), in an updated banner announcement on StudentAid.gov, has indicated that it has taken down the applications for income-driven repayment (IDR) plans and loan consolidation due to an injunction that continues to block the implementation of the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) repayment plan.

Financial Aid Awareness Month (FinAidFeb) is wrapping up this week, but you can still stay up to date and track the latest news impacting the field of student financial aid. NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attending the NASFAA National Conference for the first time can be an overwhelming experience, even more so if you are attending alone. We want attendees to have a great time and come back year after year. While NASFAA has always hosted a welcome reception for first-time attendees, we continue to look for creative ways to help first-time attendees connect with colleagues. All members of this task force will be required to attend the 2025 NASFAA National Conference in Anaheim and participate in task force activities prior to the conference and on site. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please review the task force charter on the volunteer information page and complete the volunteer form by 5:00 p.m. ET March 7, 2025.

Submit your commitment to the College Cost Transparency (CCT) Initiative for a chance to win a free registration for the NASFAA 2025 National Conference or a $500 scholarship donation to your institution! To be eligible, submit by February 28 and have your aid offer approved as a current or future CCT partner.

Federal program reviews are currently paused, but they will begin again. In the meantime, Blue Icon can help you address any compliance issues through our Standards of Excellence Review Program, comprehensive compliance reviews, or single-topic assessments. Our trained consultants will work with you to identify compliance concerns and provide an action plan to resolve them quickly. Contact Blue Icon today to learn more!
