After removing the online applications for income-driven repayment (IDR) plans and loan consolidation in response to a court injunction, the Department of Education (ED) has returned these applications online. However, the application for the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan – formally the now defunct Revised Pay As You Earn (REPAYE) plan – remains unavailable.

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

NASFAA will host its second annual Prison Education Program (PEP) Convening June 4-7, 2025 in Washington, D.C. This in-person event, Aligning Efforts: Navigating the Intersection of Student Services and Prison Education, will focus on the administration of higher education programs in prison and the critical services they provide to incarcerated students, bringing together financial aid administrators (FAAs), PEP administrators, and professionals from other student services roles. This convening will explore strategic and practical approaches to best support college students who are incarcerated. Institutions intending to apply should be active in prison education or demonstrate they are actively working to become an approved PEP. Applications are due April 16.
