NEWS FROM NASFAA

Federal Student Aid (FSA) on Monday released more guidance, via an electronic announcement, for both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 FAFSA cycles, including guidance for institutions with students who have a pseudo-Social Security number (SSN), updates about the FAFSA Submission Summary request functionality in FAFSA Partner Portal (FPP) for paper filers, and the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) request functionality. Notably, FSA announced the new functionality in the FPP where financial aid administrators may request the reprinting of a FAFSA Submission Summary for applicants who applied using the paper FAFSA in both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 cycles, including incarcerated applicants. Additionally, as of March 30, FSA has restored the ability for institutions and states to request a single ISIR or a specified group of ISIRs from the FAFSA Processing System.

In just a few weeks, NASFAA’s incoming President & CEO, Melanie Storey, will join “Off The Cuff” for a special episode where listeners will learn more about her background and priorities for the policy landscape impacting student financial aid. Before we hit record, we want to hear what questions NASFAA members have for Melanie as she begins her new role. Submit your questions through the “Off The Cuff” feedback form by Wednesday, April 23, for a chance to have them asked during our upcoming recording.
