NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

This AskRegs Knowledgebase Q&A was updated on May 15, 2025, based on guidance NASFAA received from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). A cadet or midshipman is a veteran only if they completed the full program at the U.S. service academy, were commissioned as an officer, and were subsequently discharged under a condition other than "dishonorable." View the full answer to this question to learn more.

As a friendly reminder, this Friday, May 30, is the last day to cancel your NASFAA 2025 National Conference registration. If you need to cancel your conference registration or change the attendee for your institution, complete the Conference Cancellation & Change of Attendee Form. If you do not cancel your registration by 5:00 p.m. ET on May 30, you will be responsible for the full amount of the registration fees and will be billed. If you cancel your conference registration, don't forget to cancel your hotel reservation, too.

The NASFAA Policy Update, now available on demand, includes the latest updates on what's happening in Washington related to student aid policy. The Policy Team provided updates on Higher Education Act reauthorization, student aid funding, regulatory action, administration initiatives, and closed with a question-and-answer session.
