This AskRegs Knowledgebase Q&A was updated to reflect clarification NASFAA received from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). No. According to guidance NASFAA has received from ED, verification status codes are only reported for Federal Pell Grant recipients. When you disburse a Pell Grant, you must report the student's verification status code through the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System even if the student was not selected for verification. Reference guidance under "Verification Status Codes" in Chapter 4 of the Application and Verification Guide (AVG) volume of the FSA Handbook. View the full answer to this question to learn more.

In this dynamic webinar, now available on demand, we spotlight the often-overlooked — but absolutely critical — roles of the admissions office and the registrar's office. Join representatives from AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) and NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), along with NASFAA, as we explore how these partnerships can empower your institution to build a more effective, collaborative, and sustainable PEP.
