NEWS FROM NASFAA

The Department of Education (ED) reduced its backlog of pending income-driven repayment (IDR) applications by roughly 4% over the past month, with nearly 1.6 million applications still pending as of May 31.

Read through NASFAA's analysis of the Senate's education portion of its reconciliation bill. This article was updated recently with more details outlining different provisions of the bill, including graduate loan limits and changes to income-based  repayment (IBR), and compares these provisions with the House's reconciliation bill released earlier in April.

NASFAA’s “Off The Cuff” team will be postponing this week’s recording, but you can still find the latest higher education news coming from the Department of Education (ED) and the White House in Today’s News every day. Our next episode will focus on updates to the reconciliation process, and ED's upcoming negotiated rulemaking on Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). In the meantime, be sure to catch up on previous and featured episodes.
