Bridging the Gap: Creating a Seamless Experience for Your Graduate and Professional Students

This session will focus on opportunities for collaboration between graduate/professional schools and campus financial aid offices. The panel will share tips for establishing and strengthening campus partnerships, creating effective messaging to students, leveraging warm hand-offs to allow for a seamless student experience, and proactively identifying barriers students may face in applying for and receiving financial aid. Sharing successful examples from the partnership between the University of Wisconsin’s Law School and the Office of Student Financial Aid, the speakers will help attendees establish best practices for partnering with campus colleagues to better serve graduate and professional students.

Lori Hickman serves as the Director for Scholarship Administration and Recruitment in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Wisconsin Law School where she advises current, admitted, and prospective UW Law students. Lori earned her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Prior to joining the UW Law Admissions & Financial Aid team, Lori practiced family law.
