Resuming Student Loan Repayment: Preparing Institutions & Borrowers

Session Type:

Concurrent Session
While federal student loan borrowers have not been required to make monthly payments since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, institutions and borrowers will begin preparing for the transition back into repayment in the coming months.

To that end, NASFAA convened a task force of members to give thought to what schools and financial aid administrators should be thinking about now in preparation for borrowers transitioning back into repayment on federal student loans. The group’s work culminated in a report containing considerations for institutions and a toolkit of resources designed to help financial aid administrators assist borrowers in preparing for the return to repayment.

Join members of the Resumption of Loan Repayment Task Force and NASFAA staff for a discussion on how the financial aid community can utilize these considerations and the toolkit resources to ensure borrowers and institutions alike are prepared for the resumption of student loan repayment.
