Support our charity events to make a difference in the lives of San Diego youth!

Once again in 2027, NASFAA is bringing back our popular Charity 5K and Trivia Night events to benefit this year's conference charity partner, Reality Changers. 

For 25 years, Reality Changers has been preparing youth to become first-generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. They serve youth from racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and academic backgrounds that are typically underrepresented on college campuses and overlooked by institutions.

The organization operates a “To, Through, & Beyond” program model that helps youth complete high school, get into college, graduate from college, and launch their careers. Free services include tutoring; mentorship; college, financial aid, & scholarship application support; career counseling; and more.

Every college degree has a socio-economic ripple effect, affecting individuals, their families, and their communities. Since 2001, Reality Changers has served 4,000 youth and impacted 13,000 family members. Cumulatively, program graduates have generated $240 million for the San Diego economy, an impact that is especially felt in under-resourced neighborhoods.

Would you like to make a donation to Reality Changers, regardless of whether you participate in an event? Check back in early 2027 for an online donation link.  

Charity 5K

NASFAA 2027 attendees and their guests are invited to participate in a 5K walk/run on the morning of Sunday, June 20 - either in-person, or virtually. Registration and additional details will be made available in early 2027.

• You must register for the 5K in addition to registering for the conference! Registration for the in-person Charity 5K will open in early 2027.
  
  • There is a minimum donation for in-person race participation (includes race entry & a t-shirt)
    • T-shirts are only available for those who register by the posted deadline (details coming soon!).
  • Virtual race participation will also require a minimum donation (does not include race t-shirt).

Charity Trivia Night 

Join us for a fun and friendly competition with our Trivia Night (general knowledge questions) and other fun activities TBA. Registration and additional details will be made available in early 2027.

• You must register for Trivia Night in addition to registering for the conference! Registration for Trivia Night will open in early 2027.
  
  • A minimum donation will be required to participate.
