Exam Extension Appeal Policy

Credential exams are open for a period of 40 days, for both the first and second attempts, once granted access. Exams will automatically expire from individual accounts once that timeframe has passed. An extension of this timeframe is only considered in extreme circumstances via an appeal process at least five (5) days prior to the exam expiration. Appeals may be sent to credential@nasfaa.org and should include:

  • A written statement as to the circumstance that prohibited exam completion.
  • Supporting evidence of that circumstance (physician statement, human resource statement, and/or other documents)
  • Requested extension period.

Appeals will be evaluated within three (3) business days of receipt.

Please Note: NASFAA recognizes the public health emergency declared in response to the COVID-19 virus may affect the ability of credential test candidates to meet standard deadlines. We will review requests for credential testing extensions on a case-by-case basis and will evaluate all extensions in light of the extra burden brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak. We encourage anyone who is concerned about meeting deadlines because of the outbreak to let us know.
