NEWS FROM NASFAA

The Department of Education (ED) on Tuesday announced that it updated the Student Aid Index (SAI) formula in order to be "in full alignment with the FAFSA Simplification Act," just weeks before institutions are expected to begin receiving Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs).

NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attending the NASFAA National Conference for the first time can be an overwhelming experience, even more so if you are attending alone. We want attendees to have a great time and come back year after year. While NASFAA has always hosted a welcome reception for first-time attendees, we continue to look for creative ways to help first-time attendees connect with colleagues. All members of this task force will be required to attend the 2024 NASFAA National Conference in Milwaukee and participate in task force activities prior to the conference and on site. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please review the task force charter on the volunteer information page and complete the volunteer form by 5:00 p.m. ET March 12, 2024.

In its commitment to the graduate and professional community, NASFAA is providing an upcoming webinar, on March 13 at 2 p.m. ET, as a forum for graduate and professional financial aid administrators to discuss current issues of concern for their students and peers. NASFAA will provide an update on topics specific to the graduate and professional aid community, and close with a Q&A session. Reserve your seat today.

NASFAA, with its partner Blue Icon Advisors, is working closely with the Department of Education to help under-resourced institutions get ready to receive and review ISIRs in March. We need experienced financial aid professionals to serve as an emergency corps of consultants for remote assignments. If you are interested in learning more about this unique, paid opportunity, please read more and complete the online interest form today.
