NASFAA UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attending the NASFAA National Conference for the first time can be an overwhelming experience, even more so if you are attending alone. We want attendees to have a great time and come back year after year. While NASFAA has always hosted a welcome reception for first-time attendees, we continue to look for creative ways to help first-time attendees connect with colleagues. All members of this task force will be required to attend the 2024 NASFAA National Conference in Milwaukee and participate in task force activities prior to the conference and on site. If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please review the task force charter on the volunteer information page and complete the volunteer form by 5:00 p.m. ET March 18, 2024.

Join us for Voices of NASFAA today, March 15 at 1 p.m. ET, where Daniel Matamoros, FAAC will share his voice and array of experience with our community. Daniel is a financial aid consultant and a member of the 2021-22 Diversity Leadership Program (DLP) cohort. Daniel also recently shifted careers as a center director for Midtown-Metro Achievement Centers where he helps guide low-income underserved youth in Chicago along pathways of success.

Please join us in congratulating Mary Booker, formerly the executive director of student financial services at the University of Delaware, who is now the assistant vice president of financial aid and scholarships at Texas Tech University, and Sandra McComb, who was promoted from senior financial aid administrator to assistant director at the University of Michigan-Flint. Celebrate your own career developments by completing the "Movers and Shakers" form to share the news with your colleagues.
