NEWS FROM NASFAA

This week on "Off The Cuff," Allie and Karen are joined by Jon Fansmith, the American Council on Education's senior vice president of government relations and national engagement, to discuss an update to the Student Aid Index (SAI) formula from the Department of Education (ED), which allows the Student’s Contribution from Income (SCI) to have a negative calculated value with no floor. However, the team also discusses how a continuing resolution (CR) passed by Congress would rescind that update.

Join us for a special episode of Voices of NASFAA on March 8 at 12 p.m. ET to honor Women’s History Month and celebrate International Women’s Day. We’ll sit down with NASFAA National Chair Helen Faith, FAAC, and NASFAA National Chair-Elect Kristi Jovell, FAAC, to learn more about their background, as they share their voices with our community. As we dive into their experiences, we’ll also be reflecting on Women’s History Month and what the month means for our community and profession.

Please join us in congratulating; Katrina Bennett, formerly the associate director for operations/office of financial aid at Colorado State University, who is now the director of financial aid at Champlain College; Nathan Lohr, FAAC®, formerly the director of financial aid at the University of Indianapolis, who is now the director of financial aid at Wabash College; Meghan Palumbo, who was promoted from student loan officer to director of student financial aid programs at Allegany College of Maryland; and Christina Felcyn, FAAC®, formerly the financial aid officer/advisor at Oakland Community College, who retired in February after 10 years of working in financial aid.
