Subject: Live Internet Webinar - Submitting Draft GE Completers List Corrections in NSLDS

Summary: This letter announces an upcoming webinar that will provide information about the Draft GE Completers List that will be sent to institutions from NSLDS, including how to view the Completers List data and how to submit a correction to the data.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce that on May 9, 2018 we will present a webinar on the Gainful Employment (GE) Completers List process. The GE Completers List is a list of students who completed a GE Program during the applicable cohort period, using data provided by the institution. In the coming weeks, the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) will generate and send Draft GE Completers Lists to institutions, which will have 45 days to review and correct the information. NSLDS will then send institutions their Final GE Completers Lists.

This webinar will describe the GE Completers List, including the various data fields on the list and how to read and interpret the information. We will also discuss the process for institutions to submit data corrections to the Draft GE Completers List using the NSLDS Professional Access website. This training is intended for anyone who will be working with the GE Completers List and who needs to understand how to effectively manage and respond to the data.

Please note, the webinar will cover information related to current GE regulations only and will not address the ongoing negotiated rulemaking process.

Federal Student Aid staff will present this webinar in a 90-minute session offered on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. Eastern time (ET).

Note: There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern time. To determine local time and its Eastern time zone equivalent, click on this link:

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow for as many participants as possible, we strongly encourage groups to view the webinar from a single location if accommodations allow. If viewing as a group, only one person from the group needs to register.

To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an email confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the website, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

Note: If you do not receive the email confirmation, please check your junk or spam email folder and notify your IT administrator that messages from the email address “[email protected]” should not be blocked.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity.
