Financial Aid Administrator FAQs - Potential Elimination of the Department of Education and Its Impact on Federal Student Aid

2026 National Profile

New Publication: 2026 National Student Aid Profile

As college costs continue to rise, a growing number of Americans depend on federal student financial assistance programs to afford postsecondary education. Despite the demonstrable and increasingly important role of federal student aid, many Americans are unfamiliar with Title IV programs and their application processes. Simultaneously, Congress debates the best ways to reform and strengthen the federal aid programs. It is essential for both Congress and the public to have a comprehensive understanding of federal financial aid programs and the students they support.

In an effort to increase knowledge of these vital programs, NASFAA provides the National Student Aid Profile, updated annually.
