Subject: SAVE System Users are Receiving “No Records Found” Error when Submitting Third Step Verification Requests Through SAVE

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informed Federal Student Aid (FSA) of an issue with the DHS Systematic Alien Verification Entitlement (SAVE) system that is preventing schools from verifying students’ immigration status. Specifically, some school users are receiving a “No Records Found” message even though the DHS Verification number is valid.

There is no risk to student information entered into the DHS SAVE system.   While DHS is working to quickly address the issue, schools should hold all third step verification requests, including submitting records to SAVE and requesting new DHS Verification numbers, until the SAVE system issue is resolved.  FSA will post an announcement to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website once the fix is implemented.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to monitor this situation.
