Melet Leafgreen, FAAC®, has worked in financial aid for 25 years, beginning her career at Texas Christian University and then moving to the University of Texas at Arlington. Since 2017, she has been the director of student financial aid at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She earned her bachelor's degree in vocal music performance at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in liberal arts at Texas Christian University. Melet holds the FAAC® designation and nine of NASFAA's professional credentials. She has served in a number of elected and volunteer roles at the state, regional, and national level, and is a past president of TASFAA (Texas) and SWASFAA Board member. She has served on NASFAA's Ethics Commission, and as chair of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Financial Aid Advisory Committee. She participated for several years as a NASFAA Credential test content editor and on the CFAA Commission. She is also a past Chair of NASFAA's Graduate Professional Issues Caucus. She has a Labrador, a husband, and one fantastic 11-year-old son.
