ELC Justification Language

Financial aid leaders interested in joining the 2026-27 Executive Leadership Collective (ELC) are invited to use the sample language below when seeking institutional approval or support for participation.

I'd like to provide additional context around the value of participating in the NASFAA Executive Leadership Collective (ELC). While the cost is not insignificant, the return on investment is substantial given the program's high-caliber design and the resources provided.

With each ELC cohort, this community of leaders will continue to grow, offering more opportunities for participation and collaboration. Participation in the 2026-27 cohort includes:

  • A special reception at the NASFAA 2026 National Conference in National Harbor, MD, for those in attendance.
  • An in-person kick-off event in Washington, DC, September 13-15, 2026 ($725).
  • Registration for an exclusive track at NASFAA's Leadership & Legislative Conference & Expo in February 2027 ($825).
  • Registration for the NASFAA 2027 National Conference in San Diego, CA, including special events celebrating this group ($725).
  • Virtual meetings covering topics related to federal and state policy changes, affordability and access, leveraging technology, student loan repayment policies, and other hot topics ($200/meeting).
  • Special access to higher education policymakers and thought leaders.
  • Ongoing opportunities for alumni of the ELC, including invitations to open forums and special receptions.

The collective offers direct access to national experts, small-group strategy sessions with peers in similar leadership roles, and tailored content focused on the most pressing issues in higher education finance and policy.

Participation will enhance not only my own leadership capacity, but also strengthen our institution's ability to adapt to ongoing regulatory and enrollment challenges. I'm confident this experience will bring long-term value to our team and align with our broader strategic goals.

If you have additional questions about the collective, reach out to NASFAA's Vice President of Professional Development & Institutional Compliance, Dana Kelly, at [email protected], or 202-785-6968.
